I’m Denise, a passionate traveler and obsessive planner. My family and friends know that with my detailed itineraries we won’t miss a thing. And now I’m happy to share those plans and my skill with you!
I’ve been lucky enough to travel extensively throughout the US and around the world by car, boat, plane, and train. From big cities like Paris and London, New York and Chicago, to smaller locales like Colorado Springs, Morgantown, and Lake Michigan, my goal when I travel is to see and experience as much as possible. And I’ve gotten pretty good at it.
I grew up in Missouri and graduated from University of Missouri’s School of Journalism, where I met my husband, Mark, a journalism and computer science major. We relocated to Florida for my first newspaper job and after a few years transitioned to metro Atlanta, where we’ve lived ever since. We have 2 kids, Krista and Matthew, who live in Texas and Atlanta, respectively.
After years in newspapers and then corporate communication, I “retired early” in 1994. And ever since then my job has been managing our home, getting two kids through college and planning two weddings, freelance writing, and more recently I’ve become the caretaker of my mother, Marge once she came to live with us. And through all of that I’ve placed travel as a priority in our lives, and I do what I can to help others make the most of their adventures as well.
If you’re interested in planning a trip, please peruse my itineraries for the highlights. I offer some unique finds and also some practical plans (e.g., 2 days in Chicago, 5 days in New York City, 5 days at Disney, etc.). I hope you’ll also take a look at my testimonials from wonderful friends who come back again and again for my plans.
Happy Trails,
Denise
